Construction Is Going to the Dogs
Students worked together on teams to complete their first construction project, "the doghouse". After passing their safety tests on the circular saw and the miter saw, they were ready to get to work. They learned how to read plans and practiced their skills at measuring and cutting lumber. Once constructed, students then tried their hand at vinyl siding, as well as roofing. As many of these students have never touched a power tool, much was learned and accomplished. The doghouses were then made available to area shelters to help provide a place of warmth and comfort for dogs during the upcoming winter months.
